Elementary & Middle School Students

Just because the days are short (and cold!) does not mean we cannot make long-term plans for our health...and spring gardens. This winter, Black Girls with Green Thumbs will teach school-age children (1st-8th grades) about nutrition, engage in plant-based cooking, and practice basic gardening skills - in the shelter of their local library.

Green Thumbs in your Library is an multifaceted, culturally relevant garden workshop series. From the personal copy of Seedfolks (Paul Fleischman) each participant will receive, a book club can be started. There are opportunities to apply and extend learning using the provided garden binders. And everyone is invited to dig in to prepare the raised-bed at the close of the program.

Spots are limited.
